This one pleases me a lot for the simple fact it was pure fun and you can just appreciate if you're a Lego fan and Marvel Fan it is a winner for everyone The plot centers around Loki (voiced by Troy Baker) begins to empowered super villains of Earth starting with Doctor Octopus (Voiced by Tom Kenny), then Venom (Voiced by Dee Bradley Baker) as he is trying to put a stop to Spider-Man (Voiced by Drake Bell) Then we see Iron Man (Voiced by Adrian Pasdar) and Pepper Potts (Voiced by Grey DeLisle) as Mandarin (Voiced by Barry Dennen) confronts them Also we get to see Stan Lee make special appearance as Hot Dog Vendor Plus we also get to hear: Laura Bailey as Black Widow Steven Blum as Wolverine Greg Cipes as Iron Fist Robin Atkin Downes as Abomination Tony Matthews as Jogger Chi McBride as Nick Fury, Red Skull Adrian Pasdar as Iron Man Bumper Robinson as Falcon, S.H.I.E.L.D. Lego Marvel Super Heroes: Maximum Overload I watch on Netflix mostly out of curiously. Aside from the animation I was very unimpressed.

So a filler at best to briedge the months until the next Marvel movie gets released. Thanos for example, especially not in the story department. It's got nothing quality-wise on the recent epic Avengers battle vs. But if convincing story-telling is more important to you than action and "funny" one-liners, then skip this one here.

If you love Marvel and Lego animation style (like the many Star Wars films out there), then maybe go check this one out. The big highlight with how they are getting all the supervillains in at once is just as disappointing as quickly as the action moves to Loki's headquarter, with the equally rushed-in appearance of Thor obviously. Main antagonists like The Mandarin felt rushed and wasted at times and the "rushed" applies to the entire thing in fact. Especially the comedy writing and quick funny lines (a given for Spidey and Iron Man especially) left me very unimpressed. You could say this is a compliment, but I'd say it's rather the opposite. The disalogue writing was standard Marvel stuff. Episode 1 was tolerable as well, but as a whole disappointing just like episodes 3 to 5 I guess. The episode I liked the most was episode 2 of 5, not because it was particularly good, but because it was slightly memorable in its better moments. Spider-Man, Iron Man and eventually the entire gang. I had another problem with this one and this is about the plots we got here.

The characters were not only easy to identify, but there was decent love to detail overall in terms of character and landscape/setting animations. I must say that generally I am not a huge fan of Lego animation, but here I was pretty satisfied with the visual side.

It's 5 episodes in total, all around a running time of 4-5 minutes, which means you can watch the entire thing in under half an hour and one sitting. It was released back in 2013 and features many Marvel superheroes, actually a quantity where you could say indeed there is overload. "Lego Marvel Super Heroes: Maximum Overload" is a really fitting title for this mini-series we got here.
